Calder Hodge was born with fibular hemimelia, a very rare birth condition. This meant that at age 3, his legs were amputated because he had no tibia bones in his lower legs. He lost both his legs to amputations above the knees. Daily, Calder wears prosthetics but when he's on the football field he wears " two prosthetics called "C-Leg," which is a computerized knee that offers more stability and control". Calder is striving to be the first double amputee quarerback in the NFL. Today, he is 14 and he recently won an ESPY award and is an inspiration to many. On August 2, 2019 at the Detroit Lions practice, Calder threw a touchdown pass.
