Ensuring your child has a great camp experience starts the moment they arrive at camp.
Life is busy as a parent, and that’s why pick-up and drop-off systems are structured to maximize your time while keeping kids safe.
While certain locations and camp programs may have slight variations, rest assured that every camp offered by Future Stars provides a smooth, secure, and positive transition to start (or finish!) the day.
To ensure a smooth drop-off for your child each morning, there is a designated window for arrival time — usually between 8:45 to 9:00 a.m.
Depending on the location, campers can be dropped off directly by their parents or by bus service to camp. (More about camp-provided transportation in a moment!).
Each Future Stars location is set up for efficient and safe drop-offs. Usually, this includes a drive-through process for cars to keep traffic moving, with coaches and counselors present to greet each camper and direct them to their camp program.
Navigating where to go for first-time campers and their drivers can be tricky. That’s why Future Stars includes plenty of signage and easy-to-follow directions at each location.
The first day of camp is exciting, especially when campers begin to arrive. Counselors and staff members are there to greet every child and help them with each step from their vehicle to their camp destination.
The entire process is well-supervised and organized, with proper check-ins and warm welcomes that continue in the same way for the rest of camp.
Sites do have options for early drop-off to support working parents, usually beginning at 8:00 a.m. Kids are supervised and can participate in easy, fun activities until they are escorted to their chosen camp program.
There is a fee for early drop-off service; while it may vary by location, typically, it is between $50 and $75 per week.
Standard pick-up time from camp is 3:45 to 4:00 p.m., with some variations based on camp location or program. Some locations have exceptions to this time window.
In order to ensure camper safety, each site has its own check-out system so counselors and coaches know who is authorized to pick up each kid. For example, some sites require a hanging tag for cars to show verification.
Parents can also list individuals authorized to pick up their child on camp registration forms, such as a relative, neighbor, nanny, or babysitter. If any changes need to be made regarding who will pick up a camper, parents must contact the office as soon as possible to provide specific information.
For parents who are working or juggling other commitments, you can register your child for late pick-up on a weekly basis. Usually, late pick-up goes until 5:30 p.m.
Similar to early drop-off, late pick-up service also has a fee. While exact pricing varies by location, generally, the fee for late pick-up is $75 per week.
In case of an emergency or unplanned daily situations like heavy traffic, it’s important to call the office at your child’s camp location and let them know. Communication with the camp office is essential so staff is aware of any late pick-ups.
Sometimes parents are unexpectedly running late for dropping off their child, or something may come up so that a camper must be picked up early. For any changes in your schedule, it’s important to notify the camp office.
Calling the camp office at your child’s specific Future Stars camp location is the quickest and best way to inform staff if you will be late or early for arrival or departure.
You can also contact your camp’s office through email. Just remember that phone contact is the easiest way for any urgent communication.
Some locations offer professional transportation services to and from camp, provided by a leading bus service to ensure the highest level of safety and transport.
In addition to a friendly driver, each bus or shuttle has a Future Stars camp counselor on board. This counselor completes an additional orientation specific to transportation. They supervise all of the kids in the vehicle and notify the camp office if schedules are running late or early.
To keep everyone on schedule, parents should have their campers ready to go at the time the bus arrives for their child. Campers are expected to use bus or shuttle transportation for the full week when they are signed up. If anything changes, parents can give two weeks’ notice so bus routes can be adjusted accordingly.
