Meet veteran Future Stars Diving camper, Noam.
Farah: Hi Noam, it's nice to meet you. So, how long have you been attending Future Stars camps?
Noam: Well, for a long time I went to the Tennis summer camp at St. Joseph's Long Island and then I started diving and I thought maybe I should do the diving camp here!
Farah: Do you have siblings? Do they also go to Future Stars camps?
Noam: Yes, I have a younger sister and an older brother. My sister doesn't but my older brother attends the Long Island Tennis camp.
Farah: What camp are you in this week?
Noam: I'm in Diving camp. This is my 3rd week.
Farah: I heard you say that you did tennis camp out on long island. Did you try any other programs?
Noam: No I did not, just the diving and tennis.
Farah: What have you been working on this week in diving?
Noam: Well, I did my double front. Last week, I was working on my inward double but I just got here this week, so I really didn't have time to work on it. I have to take time to warm up for a day or so before I can do my hard dives.
Farah: What is your favorite part of this week so far?
Noam: I like how there are so many kids, I make a lot of friends here and I see a lot of people that I already know. It's really fun. When you dive during the year it's all about diving but here it's about learning and having fun, and I like that!
Farah: What are you most looking forward to this week?
Noam: I heard there is a carnival on Thursday - I'm really looking forward to that!
Farah: Do you have a favorite counselor?
Noam: I do not because all of the counselors are just so good.
Farah: Is there someone that you look up to or admire?
Noam: Tom Daley, he's a diver and Greg Louganis.
Farah: Why do you admire them?
Noam: Because they are very good athletes, and they persevered and achieved.
Farah: What are some of your hobbies?
Noam: I like to read, I like to do stuff. I dive during the year and I do it a lot so I usually don't have that much time to do other stuff.
Farah: What is the best part of being a kid?
Noam: You don't have to worry about stuff and you can just have fun.
Farah: What grade are you going into?
Noam: I'm going into 5th.
Farah: What do you most enjoy about school?
Noam: I love learning about new things.
Farah: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Noam: I would like to be a doctor, specifically a geneticist. And I may want to be a diver as well.
Farah: How did you figure out that you wanted to be a geneticist specifically?
Noam: My mom is doctor and I was thinking about what I want to be and how interesting it would be.
Farah: Is your mom a geneticist?
Noam: No, she's a doctor, she does some genetics but is not a geneticist, but I thought it was super interesting!
Farah: That is super interesting! For my last question - What is your favorite memory from camp?
Noam: It would have to be when I was outside on the trampoline with all of my friends jumping! It was super fun!
Farah: Nice to meet you Noam, and hope to see you next year creating more fun Future Stars memories!
