Meet Sophie! She is a friendly and giggly girl whom I met at Field Hockey camp! Sophie has been playing field hockey for quite some time now and loves camp! Sophie will be entering her freshman year of high school and although she is nervous, I think that she will go on to do great things in high school and her future field hockey endeavors.

Meg: Hi Sophie! How has camp been going for you this summer?
Sophie: “Great! I love camp.”
Meg: That’s good to hear! Is this your first year at Future Stars Camps?
Sophie: “Yes! I did last week and this week of field hockey”
Meg: Cool! So why did you decided to sign up for field hockey?
Sophie: "I am going to be a freshman in high school and I want to try out for my high school team.”
Meg: Great! So, how are you feeling about your tryouts after attending field hockey camp for these 3 weeks?
Sophie: “I am feeling really good about it. My coaches have been great this summer and I think I have really improved. I am a little bit nervous about trying out for the team because I think I sometimes am not as aggressive, but I have been working on asserting myself on the field at camp”
Meg: That's so great to hear! I am glad you are liking it and really getting prepared for that tryout. So, regardless of how the tryouts go, do you think that you’ll come back to camp next year?
Sophie: “Yeah definitely, I have made a lot of friends at camp and I really like my coaches”
Meg: So, what have been some of your favorite parts about camp?
Sophie: “First of all, I have really liked getting to know girls from outside of my school. And, I also really like the scrimmaging in the afternoon. My coaches always switch it up. We play field hockey tennis, the world cup, and tons of other team scrimmaging activities. Once when it was raining, we did karaoke and it was so funny and fun.”
Meg: Did you know anyone coming into camp?
Sophie: “No, so I was nervous. But not I am so happy to be here!”
Meg: So, have you played Field hockey before coming to camp?
Sophie: “Yeah, I have been doing clinics since I was little. It's definitely my main sport.”
Meg: So, you are all set then! I know you will do great at your tryouts. Well, thank you so much for talking with me!
